Under Pressure: Survey Reveals European Office Workers' Stress Landscape

53% of surveyed office workers in European countries have experienced stress recently. What are the key reasons for it among the young and active European urban population, which is the core of the economy? Gradus Research surveyed residents of big cities who currently work in offices in the production of goods/services or retail business in 7 European countries with the largest economies (nominal GDP): Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands and Poland, to find out what makes them feel stressed and why.
The Spanish and Dutch seem to know the stress management secret, while Polish and Germans struggle most
61% of Polish and 60% of German respondents confirmed that they have been stressed lately, which is the highest rate among the countries surveyed.
Italy comes next with 58% of such answers. It is followed by the UK (52%) and France (51%). The Netherlands and Spain are the most relaxed among the countries surveyed with the lowest stress level — 42% each.

The survey was conducted by Gradus Research using a self-administered questionnaire in a mobile application. The audience for the survey: people aged 25-55 who currently live in big cities and who are currently employed as members of the office staff in the spheres of production goods/services or the retail business. A total of 722 interviews were conducted. The survey period: November 17 - December 24, 2023.
